Women's US Open Quarter Final
Roberta Vinci v Angelique Kerber
Roberta Vinci is just too big to ignore here. The plucky Italian has been in superb form in getting to this stage only dropping the one set in the process and don't forget she reached the final here last year beating Serena Williams on the way. Fatigue caught up with her in the showpiece but she will have no such problems today.
Angelique Kerber is as efficient as there is cruising through to the QF stage without dropping a set and made only eight unforced errors against Kvitova in the last round. The Czech had 43! Vinci won't be giving away free points as easily as that and if she can improve on her 21 winners and 26 unforced errors in the last 16 Kerber will have to dig deep.
The German deserves to be favourite but but not at 1/7. Vinci leads the head to head on hard courts 2-1 and one of those victories came as a 4/1 underdog in Montreal in 2012.
Tips
1pt win Vinci 9/2
